1. get 의 기본적 의미 : 얻다, 구하다, 사 오다

1-1.  선물 줄때

I got you something.

I got 사람 +대상

I got you some coffee.

I got lattes for entire office.

1-2. You should get some sleep/rest.  ~ 하는게 좋겠다.

2. (나이가 점점 변화하는 과정을 강조) ~한 상태가 되다.

My coffee is getting cold.

My coffee is cold.

My coffee is getting cold.

My coffee got cold.

~be getting cold (점점 식어가)

~got cold(식었어)

I hope you get better (soon).

*get well soon 을 써도 됩니다.

3. 도착하다 = get

get to + 장소 or get +장소

*앞에 to 가 붙지 않는 대표적인 장소 부사 6개-there, here, uptairs, downstairs, home, downtown

Call me when you get to work.

Did you get home safely?

4. 이해하다-get

I got it. (이해했어/알겠어)

5. (~에게 ~를 하게) 만들다/설득하다

get 사람 + to  동사원형

누군가로 하여금 나아가 무슨 일을 하게끔 만들때 make 보다 부드러움

I'll get her to send you the info.

I got him to quit smoking. (금연하게 끔 설득한 뉘앙스)

I'll get her to call you right away.

get her to call me on this. (그녀가 이 번호로 전화하게끔 네가 설득하단 뉘앙스)

6. 받다= get

Did you yet my email?

Did you get my text? I got your text.

I just got a call from corportate.
