1. at least : 최소한, 적어도, 어쨌든

*list 가 아닌 장모음 least(리이스-ㅌ)

1)최소 기준을 말할때

- 최소 ~는 걸릴거야

It'll take at least six months.

It'll cost at least 60 dollars.

It'll be at least 60 bucks.

It'll be at least 60.

* dollars = bucks  또한 숫자만 써도 구어체에선 맥락상 이해해요.

ex) The inheritance tax will be at least six million dollars.

cf ) 최소한의 도리를 애기할때 쓰는 at least

Let me at least get you some bus money.

Let me at least give you a ride.

상대가 내게 전화도 안하고 (stood me up) 바람 맞혔을때

- You could have at least called. 최소한 내게 전화는 해 줄수 있었잖아

-You could have at least texted. 최소한 내게 문자는 해 줄수 있었잖아

* could have (크우랩) ~를 할 수 있었는데, 안 했기에 could have p.p.

 

2)안 좋은 상황을 합리화 시킬때

At least it was cheap.

At least I came to class.

At least you weren't late to class.

At least I tried to help them.

Anyway, at least I tried to help them.

cf) We should at least try to get some coffee sometime.

2. run out of~ (커피, 돈, 자동차, 기름 등이 바닥나가고 얼마 남지 않았을대)  ~를 다 써 버리다, ~가 바닥나다

out of (아우럽)

I'm running out of~ ~가 바닥나가/다 써가

I ran out of~ ~를 다 썼어

I'm running out of patience. (짜증 나고 화난다는 뉘앙스) 나 인내심이 바닥나고 있어

We're eunning out of time.

We're running out of options.

You're running out of both time and options.

We're running out of gas.

3. 미국식 버텨발음 비법

lately 래잇을리 최근에/요즘에

I've been studying English lately.

It's been a while.  오랜만일걸요

- tely 로 끝날때 (~을리)  발음 되는 부사들

-ntly 로 끝날때 (~을리)발음 나요

recently 뤼쓴을리

Absolutely 앱쏠룻을리

Definitely 데히넛을리

lately 래잇을리

unfortunately 아쉽게도, 언폴쳐닛을리

fortunately 다행이도
