첫 아이의 BS/DDS 합격

첫 아이가 2018 가을학기로 시작에서 UB(University at Buffalo) 7년 치과 프로그램에 다니게 되었다.

이 학교외에도

Cornell University Biology,

7 years dental school of Medicine at NYU,

8 years dental school of Medicine at stony brook university 합격을 했다.

NYU는 너무 학비가 비싸고 해서  국립 대학인 stony 하고 UB 중 고민하다, UB 가기로 결정을 했다.

 

물론 코넬은 아이비 리그에 포함 되는 학교라 미련이 많았지만, 

첫아이의 꿈이 어릴때 부터 치과의사라 주저없이, BS/DDS 과정인 학교로 가기로 결정 했다.

3년은 Biology 학부과정을 공부 하고 4년동안은  치과 대학 대학원 과정을 하는 과정이 BS/DDS라는 것이다.

합격하기까지, 과정이 만만치 않다.

마지막 치과대학 교수들과의 인터뷰까지 해야, 결과를 알수 있다.

이번에는 첫 아이만 UB BS/DDS 과정에 들어가게 되었다.

사실 합격한 아이가 더 있었는데, 그 아이 역시 다른학교  BS/DDS 과정에 합격하여 고민후 다른 학교를 선택 하였다.

개인적으로 부모의 재정을 생각해서 선택을 해준 큰 아이에게 고맙다.

Admission to UB is based on a holistic review. We consider high school average, class rank (where applicable), SAT or ACT scores and strength of the high school academic record. A personal essay, recommendations, documented creative talent, demonstrated leadership, community service and special circumstances are also considered. For the 2018 admitted freshman class, UB reported an average ACT score of 25-30 and an average SAT score of 1190-1350. The average GPA ranged from 91-96.

The following is not required for admission, but is suggested as adequate preparation for university-level coursework:

• Four years of English (with a substantial writing component).
• Four years of social studies.
• Three years of college-preparatory science.
• Three years of a second language.
• Three years of college-preparatory mathematics.

Freshman Admission to the Program
