1. nuts = crazy 제 정신이 아닌
1) insane 처럼 제 정신이 아닌
2) enthusiatic 뭔가 열렬히 좋아하는
ex) No, I don't buy that.
It's obvious she's nuts.
*추가표현: outrageous
가능하면 부정적인 표현은 주어를 사람보다 this/it/that 으로 써 주셔요.
That's disappointing.
That's rude.
This is nuts. = This is crazy.
ex) This is insane! Nuts!
Tell her she's crazy.
Are you nuts? 물론 crazy 보단 insane 이 조금 더 부드러워요.
너무나도 충격적이거나 터무니 없을 땐 outrageous 도 자주 쓰이고요.
That's outrageous, ridiculous.

* drive 사람 nuts about~를 짜증나게/ 미치게 하다
- cause that sounds a little nuts.
- be nuts about~=be crazy about~를 열정적으로 좋아하다

2. off the hook (힘든 상황에서) 벗어나다. 빠져 나오다
사전: having avoid a duty, unpleasant situation, or punishment
-If you are off the hook, you have escaped from a difficult situation.
*hook : 갈고리에서 풀려나듯 해방, 자유의 몸인 느낌
- We're off the hook! Finally!
원치 않는 힘든 상황으로 부터 넘어갈때, off the hook
-We're off the hook. This is amazing.
-Let me off the hook. 넘어가줘, 봐줘
-I'll let you off the hook.
-Let us off the hook. 넘어가줘, 우리좀 봐줘
*발표, 강연후 질문 있나고 물어봤을때, 다들 입을 꾹 다물고 있을때
Come on, don't let me off the hook.
No question! What's on your mind!
-Just let him off the hook on this one.
3. last minute: 마지막 순간의, 막바지의
사전: happening or done at the latest possible opportunity for doing something
*something came up ( at the) last minute. 막판에 무슨 일이 생겨서 말야
*last minute 은 뒤에 단어가 연이어 나오면 last-minute 으로 씁니다.
*무슨 일이 생겼다고 하며 약속 취소 할때 something came up or sonething's came up.
- But something came up at work.
-Something has come up, and I'm not gonna be able to make it tonight.
-Something came up ( at the) last minute.
*심지어 lastminute.com 이라는 땡처리 호텔, 항공권만 모여서 파는 사이트도 있어요.
*"Time to get away."
Take advantage of our last-minute deals on stays.
-막판에 뭔가를 변경/조정해야 할때
Sorry about the last-minute change.
* last-minute afjustment.
-We apologize that we had a last-minute change in our panel.
-I know it's last minute, but I hope ( that) you can come.

-Captain, I appreciate you seeing me on shch short notice.
